Coronavirus: We are still offering appointments.
Oxfordshire Child Psychology was set up by Dr Natalie Briant and offers private psychological therapy and counselling to young people and their families throughout Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas. Additionally OCP can provide services to professionals such as social workers and teachers.
As a parent myself, I recognise the importance of being able to access help when your child needs it. Unfortunately this is much less possible through the NHS and so I decided to set up a private practice to respond to the growing need of families who are unable to get the help they need from the NHS or who prefer to pursue a private route.

After qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist from the Oxford Doctoral course I initially spent a year working in Egypt with both children and adults. Since then I have had more than ten years experience in the NHS, working specifically with children and adolescents. Over that time I have worked with young people and their families with a wide range of issues from diagnosis to therapeutic input to overcome those difficulties.

We aim to work with families to provide a clear understanding of the difficulties being experienced and a plan of how to overcome them. We use a wide range of therapeutic methods so are able to choose the approach that is best for your family. As well as individual work for young people we can also offer specialised parenting support. We are based in North Oxfordshire but are happy to travel throughout Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas (e.g. Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire) and can often arrange to see a young person in their home or school in order to minimise the disruption of appointments.

We hope that this website gives you an idea of what OCP can offer. Please feel free to contact us by email at info@oxfordshirechildpsychology.co.uk or on 07792 032872.

You are welcome to contact us to discuss your needs and whether we are able to help without any obligation to book an appointment. It is possible to book a one-off consultation appointment if this would be of more use to you. In some cases we may suggest other organisations or professionals who may be of help to you.

We are committed to keeping your information safe and secure. Please read our privacy notice to find out more.

We are all registered with the HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) and another professional body such as the BPS (British Psychological Society) and abide by their professional codes of conduct and ethics. We both have an enhanced DBS check (previously called a CRB check) and hold professional liability insurance.

Interventions offered are likely to be based upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Attachment Therapy or draw upon other well recognised and evidenced theories. It is possible to access OCP's services through some private health insurance policies.

We both attend regular clinical supervision sessions in order to maintain the quality of the therapy offered and keep up to date with advances in clinical psychology by attending relevant Continued Professional Development Events.
