Dr Natalie Briant
After qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist from the Oxford Doctoral course, Natalie spent her first year working in Egypt with both children and adults. She returned to the UK in 2002 and spent time working in a number of different child and adolescent services. Most latterly in the NHS she was Clinical Lead for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, specifically for Looked After and Adopted Children.
Over her time in the NHS Natalie worked with a wide range of children and young people with varied roles that involved undertaking diagnostic assessments, liaising with paediatricians, social workers and other CAMHS professionals, providing therapy as well as sitting in lots of strategy meetings.
Natalie uses a range of therapeutic approaches, often drawing upon Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Natalie provides parent consultations and enjoys working with parents to find strategies they can use at a family level to help their child. Natalie has a lot of experience using stories therapeutically and introduces this versatile approach to some families.
Natalie lives near Bicester with her family and their dog and cat.
